Description

This course focuses on the latest protocols for ceramic veneer restorations. The program provides the knowledge necessary to perfect ceramic veneer restorations, covering material selection, diagnostic and treatment planning for esthetic cases. The course delves into the latest techniques for preparation, impression, and cementation of veneers. Clinical case presentations will help participants learn how to incorporate diagnostic mock-ups into their daily practice as a reliable choice for treatment planning, effective communication with patients/labs, and time-saving during the preparation and provisional phases of complex cases.

Objectives

  • Review the principles of treatment planning and smile design and mock-ups for ceramic veneer cases to increase case acceptance and improve patient communication.
  • Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of various ceramic materials used in veneer fabrication, including their unique properties, strengths, and limitations.
  • Participants will learn the latest techniques for veneer preparation, provisional try-in, and cementation.

Speaker

Dr. Luana Oliveira-Haas

Dr. Luana Oliveira-Haas is an accomplished professional with extensive expertise in Restorative Dentistry, Evidence-based Dentistry, and research. With over 25 years of experience, she is passionate about teaching and has conducted numerous lectures and hands-on workshops on restorative dentistry. Dr. Oliveira-Haas earned her DDS degree from the Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil in 1995. She furthered her education with a certificate in Advanced Studies in Esthetic Dentistry at Sao Paulo State University and completed a Specialty Program in Operative Dentistry at the Federal University of Uberlandia, both in Brazil.

Continuing her academic journey, Dr. Oliveira-Haas pursued a Master and PhD in Operative Dentistry at Sao Paulo State University in 2004. Later, she moved to the United States and served as a faculty member at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale-FL for 12 years. During this time, she also held the position of Post Graduate Operative Dentistry Program Director. In 2018, she joined the Adult Restorative Dentistry Department at UNMC, College of Dentistry, Lincoln-NE. After completing a two-year (2021-2023) AEGD residency program at the University of Florida, Dr Oliveira-Haas proudly obtained her certificate as a US-trained and licensed dentist.

Currently, Dr. Oliveira-Haas holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor and AEGD Residency Program Director at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kansas City, MO while also maintaining her practice in the Faculty Practice clinic. Her impressive academic background and extensive clinical experience make her a respected authority in the field of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.
