Mariela Gonzalez’s career in the dental industry commenced in 1989 when she started working for the Canadian division of Dentsply International. She worked in their sales and marketing department as well as other divisions for almost a decade. She then joined Paragon Implant Company and was responsible for overseeing their Canadian division as the Marketing & Education Manager for two years. Mariela then moved on to join Prosthodontic Associates in 1999 as their Office Manager and was promoted to Business and Human Resources Manager in 2006. She has been a manager at Prosthodontic Associates for over two decades and is an integral part of the development and growth of the practice (from 5 people when she started to over 30 today). Her main responsibility is Human Resources and overseeing the smooth running of the overall practice. Mariela’s passion is working with people and helping them develop their true potential through mentorship and guidance.
Mariela studied at Humber College to expand her knowledge base in Customer Service, Marketing, and Management. She is also considered a George Brown College Advisor and has received her Dental Practice Management Certificate from the University of Toronto. Mariela continues to upgrade her knowledge and has also written several articles on Human Resources management. She is heavily involved in the ongoing development and expansion of Prosthodontic Associates and is also currently working towards her designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and received her Human Resources Certificate in 2018. She has also joined the Build Your Smile Dental Foundation as their Chief Financial Officer. This foundation was founded by Prosthodontic Associates to help underprivileged people both in Canada and internationally.
